Itinerary for Boston – Rocky Coast of Main & Finger Lakes- June 17-25, 2017 Jackson Trippers Inc.
Day 1: We depart for our first nights lodging in Syracuse NY via the pick-up location you choose on the reservation form. (Pick-up times will be provided in your pre-departure packet, mailed within two weeks of departure). The coach will make appropriate stops, approximately every 2 hours 2 ½ Hours for restroom and stretch breaks along with lunch opportunities.
Day 2: Continue on to Boston for an overnight stay, with an included dinner in downtown Boston, and time on your own after dinner to explore with your lodging close to downtown.
Day 3: Will be a fun filled day, visit John F. Kennedy Library and Museum, with 25 dramatic exhibits celebrating his life to view on your self-guided tour. Lunch at Cheers, where everyone knows your name, followed by a driving tour of Boston including the Freedom Trail, Boston Common, Old State House, Bunker Hill Monument, and more. Free time at Quincy Market. You will end the day by traveling to Ogunquit, Maine. (Beautiful place by the sea)
Day 4: The day starts off with a driving tour of York and Kennebunkport, bring your camera for some truly photographical stops. Free time to eat, shop, enjoy galleries in Dock Square. Learn about lobstering on the Finestkind, a narrated harbor cruise. Take a walk on the Marginal Way path along the rocky coastline, before ending the day with an optional lobster dinner. Two nights lodging at the unforgettable “Anchorage by the Sea” in Ogunquit, ME
Day 5: Enjoy free time in the harbor town of Camden Maine to view the schooners and waterfront activities and lunch at one of the outstanding seaside restaurants. We will have a driving tour of Camden Hills State Park, visit the peak of Mount Battie for a beautiful view of Camden village and harbor. Dinner will be a traditional Bar Harbor Lobster Bake: watch as your meal of lobster, potatoes, and corn are steamed in a large stainless steel cooker. (with options) Two nights lodging at the “Blue Nose Inn” overlooking Frenchman Bay.
Day 6: View the coastal Main scenery on a 2-hour Nature Cruise of Frenchman Bay, take in the sights and be ready…you may see seals, harbor porpoises, osprey and eagles. Dinner will also include the spectacular views of Frenchman Bay at the Looking Glass Restaurant. After dinner your local guide will join us for a sunset driving tour of Acadia National Park along Park Loop Drive to see Thunder Hole, Otter Cliffs & Sand Beach.
Day 7: Get ready for free time in Freeport, home of LL Bean and other upscale factory outlets in a very unique city setting of shops. Tonight we have a very special dinner featuring delicious hearth-roasted prime rib dinner at the historic Salem Cross Inn. One of the Trippers favorites.
Day 8: Our return journey will start today, with our last night in Ithaca, NY in the Finger Lakes region. You will experience the “Fabulous Falls Above Cayuga Tour “to see Ithaca Falls, Cascadilla Creek Gorge, Cornell University & Campus, and visit a Winery on Lake Cayuga with a wonderful farewell dinner on the lake.
Day 9: Today we depart the Finger Lakes for home with a stop at the Corning Museum of Glass featuring a museum spanning over 3,000 years of glass history. You may also visit the market place to purchase the wonderful corning products. Tonight we arrive home with fond memories, experiences and new found friends.
